YOUR GUIDES
Lauren Urban
RESILIENCE LEADER & YOGA INSTRUCTOR
Lauren’s relationship with movement began at age five, when dance became her anchor and creative language. She trained and performed with the Jazz Cats at the Center Stage Studio in New Jersey, carried that momentum to Spirit of Color at Tufts University, and later danced professionally with e-Dance Theatre in the Philippines. Years of rehearsal, performance, and collaboration built the foundation of her worldview—intentional, flexible, and adaptable to most rhythms.
Her yoga training in the United States and Singapore expanded that discipline. She trained in yoga for fitness and yoga for holistic health, learning how strength, awareness, and breath work together. She became a holistic health counselor through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, weaving food as medicine into her approach to leadership and well-being.
Current Focus & Expertise
In addition to yoga practice, Lauren brings this perspective into her work as Executive Director of the Resilient Cities Network, guiding a global network spanning more than 100 cities across 47 countries. Her background in sustainability and climate adaptation includes senior roles at 100 Resilient Cities, the Asian Development Bank, and the Worldwatch Institute.
Academics: BA in International Relations (Tufts), MSc in Environment and Development (LSE).
